Getting Started (and Restarting)

Below is my original post. I’m restarting this blog, I didn’t like the way I had to edit blog entries on the last system, so here we go again.

It's always hard to get started. This is my first post in a blog in a long, long time, but I want to start documenting some of my technical thoughts.

If you want to know about me - I'm John Dye. Currently I'm doing C# and Postgres, but I've been known to dabble in just about every kind of major database. I'm most comfortable in Sql Server and PostgreSQL at this point, though I'm still fine with Mongo and MySql or MariaDB.

I'm more of a data guy and processing guy, and MUCH MUCH less of a UI guy. One of the first projects I have in mind will have some UI. You're all going to tell me it's ugly. That's too bad. It probably will be. I don't care. However if it is confusing, that I do care about.

First in my life, but lastly related to this blog, I'm a husband, a father, a step-father, and a mid-life college student. I doubt much from that world will blend over, but its still out there, and sometimes those priorities will keep me away.
